Editorial policy
How we prepare medical content
Korea Breast Care publishes general educational content and plain-English summaries of clinical research.
Our content-development process distinguishes between general clinical information, published research findings, institutional claims and individual medical advice.
Source hierarchy
Sources should be prioritized in the following order:
- Peer-reviewed systematic reviews and clinical guidelines
- National cancer registry and health-system data
- Prospective multicenter studies
- Randomized clinical trials
- Prospective observational studies
- Retrospective multicenter studies
- Retrospective institutional studies
- Expert technical reports
- Institutional promotional material
Institutional promotional material must not be treated as independent evidence of clinical superiority.
Research summary standards
- State the complete study title
- Identify the journal and year
- Identify the study design
- Report the sample size
- Identify the data source
- Describe the study population
- Separate results from interpretation
- Include a limitations section
- Provide DOI or PubMed information
- State whether the abstract or full text was reviewed
Medical review
Content should be medically reviewed before publication whenever it provides detailed procedural, diagnostic or treatment information.
The reviewer's name, specialty and review date should be displayed only with the reviewer's authorization.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected promptly.
Substantive corrections should include the date of correction and a brief explanation of what was changed.
Updating research
Research pages should display:
- Publication year
- Date first published on Korea Breast Care
- Date last reviewed
- Review status
Older statistics should not be presented as current without a visible date.
